Excerpt from Owl Moon
"We reached the line of pine trees, black and pointy against the sky,
and Pa held up his hand. I stopped right where I was and waited.
He looked up, as if searching the stars, as if reading
a map up there. The moon made his face
into a silver mask. the he called:
'Whoo-whoo-who-who-who-whooooooo,'
the sound of a Great Horned Owl. 'Whoo-whoo-who-who-who-whooooooo...."
The child in the story is never identified and could be a boy or a girl. Therefore,
it can be read as if it is a father-son or father-daughter adventure.
Notes on the Condition of the book
Owl Moon is from the former collection of a second grade teacher who is
about to retire. The book obviously has been read to her classes. The spine is
creased and the corners are worn. A Property of stamp is on the inside cover and
on the title page. Every page is clean and still tightly bound. This
is a gently read book and is in good condition. As a first edition Scholastic
softcover title, it is of very good value. The pictures themselves are worth the
$2.50 price tag.
As with any book purchased from Nana's Books for Kids, if you are not completely satisfied,
you may return it for a complete refund.
