Synopsis

Petit Connoisseur is a first art board book for a toddler. It introduces Dada, Dali, Pop Art, Bau Haus style, Cubism, and Van Gogh visual art styles in colors and simplicity geared for your toddler.

Description

This unique picture book has 14 pages of art each in a unique style. Exposure to this "first art board book" may have your young child recognizing that Dali's syle is like the picture in the book of the baby with the big moustache.

Why I chose this book

This is one of the few board books that I have seen for the very young child that introduces art concepts. I appreciate Ms. Salmansohn’s belief that it is never too early to be a Petit Connoisseur.

Featured Picture Book

Kittens First Full Moon

Kitten's First Full Moon is a good book to read to children at bedtime.  The pictures are lively, yet soothing; the prose is engaging yet almost of lullaby quality. This Caldecott medal winning book is one toddlers and early readers will read again and again.

Caps for Sale

Esphyr Slobodkina has recreated an old folk tale about a peddlar selling caps and a band of monkeys who have their own ideas for those hats, monkey business. Ms. Slobodkina's bright colorful illustrations of the gray, brown, blue, and red caps all balancing on the peddlars head and then on the heads of the mischievious monkeys adds to the fun of Caps for Sale.
