Synopsis

This book addresses all the “what now?” disasters that happen with kids around the house—Superman gets flushed down the toilet and clogs it up. How do you unclog the toilet?

Your son sleeps on gum. It’s stuck in his hair and it’s picture day at school. How do you remove the gum from his hair?

A moth flies into your daughter’s ear while on a camping trip. (There is a practical answer given) This humorous book provides solutions to the above mentioned kid-disasters ---and to many others.

Description

Kid Disasters and How to Fix Them is a parental help book divided into four sections: Section 1—I Told You Not to Touch That: Body-related Predicaments. Section 2—Don’t Flush! Plumbing and Appliance disasters. Section 3—What’s That on the Rug? Interior Household Destruction. Section 4—What Did You Do to That Window? When Bad Things Happen Outside. This handy reference concludes with Be Prepared—a few items to keep handy.

Why I chose this book

Having been a parent myself, I know we all need humor in our lives. This book is hysterical. I loved reading about all the very common kid disasters. If they haven’t happened directly to my family, I knew of them happening to others. Not only was this book written with great humor, the author provided the common sense answers to the situations. I recommend this book even to those with no children at home just because laughter is good medicine for the soul.

What others said about this book

“Kid Disasters and How to Fix Them could be considered a parent’s version of The Worst Case Scenario meets Hints from Heloise, with a little Dr. Spock thrown in. Everyday traumas, from crayons through the wash, to heads stuck in between stair railings, are covered in detail, complete with solutions, helpful hints and interesting bits of information that you never thought you’d need—until you became a parent.”—Nancy Nash-Cummings, Nationally syndicated columnist
