The Music Connection is a student copy. It is divided into 4 sections. Each section's purpose is an aid in helping the elementary music teacher present an aspect of music to his/her classroom. The music book could also be used effectively by a home school instructor. Section one introduces melody, rhythm, harmony, form, and the sounds of instruments and voices.
Section two introduces themes in music. Here the music instructor will find simple melodies from various countries. The purpose of section two is to learn how music tells us who we are. This section also contains holiday and seasonal songs as well as songs about friendship.
Section three introduces reading music. Each section is done with very simple illustrations and clearly defined teaching processes. A music teacher need not be an accomplished musician to use this book.
A Music Connection has been very gently used. There are no markings on any inside pages. There are no library stamps. The binding is very tight. This is a student copy that could easily be adapted to be used as a teaching aid. The illustrations are cheerful and very instructive to the principles being taught. --a book of excellent value
